4 wounded in suspected NPA attack in Oriental Mindoro

At least four personnel of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) were wounded when suspected members of the New People's Army (NPA) ambushed and a landmine exploded in Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.

According to Rodil Vega's report on Super Radyo dzBB on Wednesday evening, a team of PNP-SAF was heading to Barangay Malitbog when their vehicle hit a landmine in Sitio Mayangis, Barangay Mambog.

Based on the report, the explosion led to a firefight, which lasted for 10 minutes.

When the gunfire subsided, the PNP-SAF squad requested assistance from their headquarters to transport injured individuals to a hospital. -- Mel Matthew Doctor/BAP, GMA News
