Wild boar attacks hiker in Mt. Apo
A hiker on Mt. Apo was attacked by a wild boar, according to a report on “24 Oras."
The incident, which was caught on camera, showed the man seemingly approaching the wild animal before it lunged forward to bite him. He was fast to pull out his arm saving him from what could have been a tragedy.
The hiker said he did not attempt to pat the animal but was merely picking something near it. But he admitted he made a mistake and appealed to the public not to imitate him.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) warned the public not to approach Philippine wart pigs because they naturally attack to protect their territory.
It also reminded them that wild animals should not be fed to preserve their "natural instinct” to hunt for food.—Sundy Locus/LDF, GMA News
