1 hurt in Koronadal City bus blast —military

One person was hurt in an explosion inside a bus in Koronadal City in South Cotabato on Thursday, the military said.

A military spot report provided by Major Andrew Linao, public information officer of the military's Western Mindanao Command, to GMA News Online said the explosion was due to an improvised explosive device.

“Directed all units under JTF (Joint Task Force) Central to intensify checkpoint operations and intelligence monitoring,” the report said.

The military report described the casualty as a male tricycle driver.

The explosion occurred inside a Yellow Bus Line unit along Gensan Drive in front of a bank in Barangay Zone 3. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
