PNP: Nearly P6-M shabu seized, 2 nabbed in separate Cebu ops

The Philippine National Police said nearly P6 million worth of shabu was confiscated in two police separations in Cebu on Tuesday and Wednesday.

In a statement, the PNP said the Toledo City Police on Wednesday arrested a suspect identified as Christine “Tin” Monte De Ramos, 26.

Authorities seized 160 grams of shabu worth P1,088,000 from her, according to the PNP.

On Tuesday, police also arrested 20-year-old Bryan Justol during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City.

Police Station 11 personnel confiscated from Justol 32 transparent packs of shabu worth P4,760,000.

“We have another major anti-illegal drug operation that successfully nabbed a drug suspect. Rest assured that all our operations are based on careful intelligence gathering,” PNP officer-in-charge Lieutenant General Vicente Danao Jr. said.

The suspects will face charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the PNP said.

Meanwhile, police arrested a high-value drug personality in Batangas City over the weekend.

Danao identified the suspect as John Cristopher Oliver Abulencia.

Abulencia was nabbed in Barangay Balagtas, Batangas City, during a buy-bust operation on May 14.

Seized were 100 grams of suspected shabu in two transparent plastic sachets with an estimated street value of P680,000; marked cash used in the buy-bust; a brown paper bag; a body bag in gray; and one cellphone.

Abulencia will face charges due to the violation of RA 9165. —LBG/VBL, GMA News
