Contractor who lost thousands in bets robs e-sabong outlet in Cavite

A 40-year-old contractor who lost thousands of money in bets robbed an online cockfighting or e-sabong outlet in Rosario, Cavite.

According to Chino Gaston’s “24 Oras” report on Wednesday, authorities identified the suspect as Christian Rodriguez who gambled three times in the outlet.

Last Thursday, the suspect came and lost his bet until he offered his motorcycle to the supervisor of the e-sabong betting station.

“Malaki [ang pusta] sunod sunod na talo kaya namwemwersa siya na isangla yung motor, [nung hindi pinayagan] naglabas ng baril tinutukan na lang yung mga teller,” Jimmy, an employee of e-sabong station, said.

(He betted a big amount, then he lost many times so he was forced to pawn his motorcycle, but he was not allowed so he pulled out a gun and pointed it at the tellers.)

According to the Rosario Philippine National Police (PNP), the suspect took around P380,000 from the e-betting station.

The police said Rodriguez is also a contractor of houses. It added many home owners have filed complaints against him for leaving their houses unfinished.

(He lost almost P200,000 because he was known in the betting station then around 4 a.m. in the morning, he robbed it.  He always gambles. Based on the complaints, he asked for large amount of money as advanced payment from his projects.)

Meanwhile, the suspect’s live-in partner admitted that he was addicted to e-sabong.

(I want him to yield to authorities. My husband is not a bad person. I just don't know why this happened to him. I also didn't know that he would be like that.)
