Magnitude 5.6 earthquake recorded in Surigao del Sur
A magnitude 5.6 earthquake shook Bayabas, Surigao del Sur on Sunday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.
The earthquake, tectonic in origin, occurred at 6:24 p.m. It was originally reported to have a magnitude of 6.1, before Phivolcs downgraded it to a 5.4 and then adjusted it to a 5.6.

Its epicenter was located at 09.16°N, 126.87°E - 067 km N 72° E of Bayabas in Surigao del Sur.
The quake had a depth of 2 kilometers.
Intensity IV was felt in Bayabas, Cantilan, Carmen and Tandag City, and Surigao del Sur.
Intensity III was felt in the City of Bislig, Marihatag, Carrascal and Lanuza, Surigao del Sur; and the City of Bayugan, Rosario and San Agustin in Agusan Del Sur.
