Cops arrest 5th most wanted man in Bohol

TAGBILARAN CITY — A man tagged as the fifth most wanted person in Central Visayas was arrested in Bohol, the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) said on Friday.

Police Colonel Osmundo Salibo, director of BPPO, identified the suspect as Raindro Gabas Buno alias Wally/Bigbig/Sendoy, 48, a resident of Barangay San Vicente in Trinidad town.

He was arrested in an operation in Barangay San Roque in Talibon town at 12:52 a.m. on Friday (Feb. 25).

Buno has standing warrants of arrest for murder and six counts of attempted murder issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 101 of Talibon and RTC Branch 51 of Carmen.

Police said the court has not recommended bail for the murder charge but bail was set at P120,000 for each of the six counts of attempted murder.

Buno was included in the Top 5 list of the most wanted persons in Central Visayas. He was allegedly an active armed member of New People's Army's Squad 2, Sandatahang Yunit Pangpropaganda (SYP) Platoon of the Bohol Party Committee.

He was also a former chairman of Talibon-Trinidad Integrated Farmers Association (TTIFA) based in San Vicente in Trinidad town.

The suspect was brought to Talibon Police Station for proper disposition before the return of the warrants of arrest to the court of origin.

Salibo commended the exceptional efforts of the PNP.

"Aking pinapasalamatan ang walang kapagurang serbisyo ng ating kapulisan para sa probinsya ng Bohol, at di tayo titigil hanggat di natin naabot ang hustisya para sa mga nabiktima ng kriminal katulad nito," he said. —BAP, GMA News
