PNP arrests Cebu’s 8th most wanted person
The top 8 Most Wanted Person (MWP) in Cebu was arrested on Friday, the Philippine National Police said Sunday.
Authorities identified the suspect as Jeffrey “Jonas” Talisic Pepito, a 30-year-old resident of Barangay Lipata, Minglanilla, Cebu.
"Presiding Judge Lucila Martinez Cad Enjambre of the Regional Trial Court 7 Branch 89 issued a warrant for Pepito's arrest for murder and frustrated murder, docketed under Criminal Case Number DU-48137 and DU-48138, with no bail recommended,” the PNP said.
He was arrested in a police operation conducted by personnel of Police Station 8 Cebu City Police Office in the vicinity of the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor along M. Velez Street, Barangay Capitol, Cebu City.
He was then brought to the police station for documentation and proper disposition.
"I commend our operatives in Central Visayas for another successful extensive manhunt operation to bring MWP to the folds of justice and have the arrested suspect accountable for the crimes he committed," PNP Chief Police General Dionardo Carlos said in a statement.
"Ang ating kapulisan ay magpapatuloy sa pagtugis sa mga taong nagtatago at may pananagutan sa batas upang siguraduhin na mabigyan ng kaukulang hustisya ang kanilang mga naging biktima," Carlos added.
