Boracay, Puerto Galera now accept fully vaccinated tourists sans negative RT-PCR test
Fully vaccinated travelers no longer need to present a negative RT-PCR test to visit popular tourist destinations Boracay and Puerto Galera, GTV’s Balitanghali reported on Wednesday.
Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores issued an executive order that allows fully vaccinated tourists to enter the province even without a negative COVID-19 test starting Wednesday.
Visitors only have to present proof of vaccination such as VaxcertPH, locally-issued vaccination card, World Health Organization International Certificates of Vaccination and Prophylaxis, and vaccination cards or certificates issued abroad.
For fully vaccinated tourists going to Puerto Galera, they have to present a proof of vaccination and a Safe, Swift and Smart Passage (S-PASS).
Interviewed on Balitanghali, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said that 100% of tourism workers have already been vaccinated against COVID-19.
She said the Department of Tourism will work with local governments to ensure that minimum health protocols are being followed in establishments.
“We have to work closely with different LGUs kasi dapat talaga sila yung nagi-implement ng [because they should be the ones implementing] minimum health safety protocols,” she said. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
