Fishermen brace for Typhoon Odette; LGUS suspend festivals, Christmas events

In Mark Salazar's "24 Oras" report, fisherfolk on Siargao island as well as in Dolores, Eastern Samar halted sea voyages as PAGASA warned gale- to storm-force strength in areas affected by the weather disturbance.

The Dolores government also suspended its opening of Christmas lights for now.

Meanwhile, the Cebu government also prepared their equipment for rescue operations.

The Binirayan Festival in Antique was also canceled in anticipation of the typhoon, which is expected to make landfall in the vicinity of Caraga or Eastern Visayas  on Thursday.
