Flight instructor dead, student pilot hurt after Cessna plane crash in Pangasinan —CAAP

The pilot-in-command was killed while a student pilot was hurt after the Cessna 152 aircraft they were in crash-landed in Alaminos, Pangasinan on Wednesday, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.

In a statement, the CAAP said the aircraft came from the Fly Fast Aviation Academy.

The crash has fatally injured the flight instructor, while the student pilot has been brought to a nearby hospital in Alaminos for medical treatment.

According to the CAAP, the aircraft took off from Lingayen Airport at 08:22 AM for an orientation flight.

CAAP Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board's (AAIIB) Go Team has been deployed to the crash scene to help determine the cause of the crash.

“More information is expected to follow upon the examination of the crash scene. The names of the persons on board the aircraft have been withheld pending notification to their next of kin,” the CAAP said. 

Citing information from the Lingayen Airport, CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio said the Alaminos Police informed the Lingayen Aviation Security Unit about the crash around 10 a.m.

It was reported that the aircraft was totally burned.

According to Apolonio, “the Cessna 152 is an American two-seat, fixed-tricycle-gear, general aviation airplane, used primarily for flight training and personal use.”—KG/AOL, GMA News
