Vice mayoral aspirant in Maragondon, Cavite shot dead after alleged parking altercation
A vice mayoral aspirant in Maragondon, Cavite died on the spot on Tuesday night after an alleged altercation with his neighbor over parking.
The victim was identified as Nolito Magallanes, former vice mayor of Maragondon from 2004 to 2007, according to a report by Bam Alegre on GMA News' Unang Balita on Wednesday.
The incident occurred past 6 p.m. in front of the victim's house in Barangay Bacao II in General Trias.
The suspect was identified by police as Robert Amoranto, friend and neighbor of the victim.
According to a spot report of the police, the victim and the suspect were having a drinking session when they got into an altercation regarding the victim's vehicle parked at the basketball court.
No one could allegedly play at the basketball court because of the vehicle blocking the way.
The victim stood up and left, but the suspect allegedly followed him and shot him in front of his house.
The suspect fled and is the subject of a police manhunt.
Police investigation is ongoing.
The victim's family meanwhile asked for privacy as they attend to the details of the wake and interment. —KG, GMA News
