Heavy rainfall caused flooding in 7 villages in Jagna, Bohol

TAGBILARAN CITY - Seven villages in Jagna town in Bohol were flooded early Tuesday morning due to continuous heavy rains brought about by the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ.

The barangays affected by the flood were Poblacion, Sitio Balbalan in Barangay Pangdan, Tejero, Pagina, Looc, Can-upao, Bungamar and  Bunga Ilaya.

Residents woke up to heavy rains that put many barangays, especially the rice fields, underwater.

Knee-deep water entered the houses at Purok 5 in Kalipay Compound in Barangay Can-upao.

Councilor Anthony Aniscal said that some cottages at Can-uba Public Beach were washed out.

He said the tennis court near the town hall was also flooded.

According to Adonis John Cagas, administrative and training officer of the Jagna Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, there was no casualties reported and floodwaters subsided after several hours. -- BAP, GMA News
