PCG apprehends 33 illegal fishermen off Cavite

Operatives of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) apprehended on Tuesday 33 fishermen for illegal fishing operations off Cavite City.
Based on PCG’s report, the 33 local fishermen on board seven motorized bancas from Tangos, Navotas City, were caught trawl fishing at 2.5 nautical miles off Sangley Point.

According to the PCG, charges will be filed against the apprehended fishermen for violation of Cavite City Ordinance Number 06-3149, Section 2 or trawl and fine mesh net fishing inside municipal waters.
Likewise, the PCG personnel towed the seized motorbancas for impounding in Barangay 49-M Akasya, Cavite City for proper documentation and filing of appropriate charges. —Richa Allyssa Noriega/LBG, GMA News
