COVID-19 vaccines supply in Ilocos Norte ‘slow but steady’—governor
Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc on Thursday said that the supply of COVID-19 vaccine in the province is "slow but steady."
“Currently, we've rolled out over 182,000 vaccines and we have over 75,000 individuals who are fully-vaccinated,” he said during the Laging Handa public briefing.
With a population of over 600,000, Manotoc said the province is looking forward to more COVID-19 vaccine doses from the national government.
The localized enhanced community quarantine in the province, except for four towns with low number of COVID-19 cases, is in effect until September 7.
He assured that affected residents were given food assistance amid the strict lockdown.
According to the governor, at least 32 cases of Delta variant have been detected in the province.
“We've been operating under the assumption na widespread na ang Delta dito (that the Delta variant was already widespread here)” he added.
As of Wednesday, the National Task Force Against COVID-19 said 52,603,760 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have arrived in the country.
Over 19.7 million doses have already been administered for the first dose, while 13,958,418 people have been fully vaccinated.—LDF, GMA News
