PNP destroys P40 million worth of marijuana plants in Kalinga


The Philippine National Police on Friday destroyed 203,500 fully-grown marijuana plants worth P40,700,000 in Tinglayan, Kalinga.

In a statement, PNP said its Drug Enforcement Group conducted a marijuana eradication operation in Barangay Loccong and uprooted the plants from five different sites in the mountainous area.

PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar lauded the personnel for the operation

“Ipagpatuloy lamang natin ang mga ganitong operasyon para sa patuloy nating pagsupil sa ilegal na droga,” he said.

According to Eleazar, investigators were attempting to identify and arrest the cultivators of the plantation sites. — DVM, GMA News
