300 passengers stuck at Albay port due to Masbate's ‘no vaccine, no entry’ policy
Over 300 passengers were stranded in Port of Pio Duran, Albay as they could not enter Masbate province due to its entry restrictions on unvaccinated persons.
According to Charmaine Ragiles' GMA Regional TV report, the commuters bound for Masbate have been stranded for at least four days.
One of the passengers appealed for help as they were stuck at the port.
"Wala na kaming masabi. Awa na lang mahingi namin, (We have nothing left to say. We just need help.)," a stranded passenger said.
Even Noel Arduna of the Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) in Pio Duran is asking local governments in Bicol region to have uniform policies on incoming travelers.
Arduna said they are also coordinating with the Department of Social and Welfare Development to provide aid to stranded passengers, who are running out of food supplies.
