Teacher in Camarines Sur invents disinfecting machine for school papers
A teacher in Camarines Sur has invented a disinfecting machine that will not destroy delicate school papers, according to a report on State of the Nation on Wednesday.
At a time that most of the students have to undergo blended learning or attend online classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a teacher from Bula town in Camarines Sur found a solution to disinfect papers.
These papers, that would otherwise be destroyed if subjected to sprayed disinfectant are passed through a contraption called the J.H.O.M.A.R. or the Jeepney-type Health protecting Machine Applying Robotics.
The machine resembles a jeepney.
The machine, which was invented by Jhomar Jaravata, can disinfect 20,000 modules within eight hours.
The modules are disinfected using chemicals and these no longer have to be exposed the sun or sprayed with disinfectant.
The disinfecting process can be monitored by using a cellphone, is solar-powered and made of wood.
Jaravata said the machine has been inspected by personnel from the Department of Science and Technology or DOST.
He added that there is a possibility that the design of the machine will be further developed once his project proposal is approved by the Department of Education or DepEd. -- BAP, GMA News
