Former Cebu governor Lito Osmeña passes away
Former Cebu Governor Emilio Mario "Lito" Osmeña has passed away on Monday. He was 82.
Osmeña's death was confirmed in a Facebook post by his nephew Cebu City Councilor Renato "Junjun" Osmeña Jr.
"Rest in peace, uncle Lito Osmeña. Thank you so much for everything you have taught me, not only about politics but also about life. As an Osmeña, we are very proud of all the good you have done in the beginning and in the country. You will be missed, uncle. We love you," Junjun wrote.
Lito served as the governor of Cebu from 1988 to 1992.
He was also known as the father of the Cebu Economic boom or Ceboom.
He was the brother of late senator Sonny Osmeña. They were the grandsons of the late president Sergio Osmeña.
Lito's cousins are former senator Serge Osmeña III and former Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmeña. -- BAP, GMA News
