In last video call, corporal in C-130 crash gave wife premonition
The families of the soldiers who died in the C-130 plane crash in Sulu's Patikul town remembered their last memory of their loved ones.
According to Oscar Oida's report on "24 Oras" on Tuesday, Mabel Dapanas recalled her last video call with her husband, Corporal Carlo Dapanas, Jr., before he boarded the C-130 aircraft on Sunday.
Before her husband's flight, Mabel said she already had a gut feeling that something bad will happen.
"Ang sabi niya 'yong sinakyan na C-130 na airplane may ano raw may problem daw sabi ng asawa ko," she said.
Their video call ended abruptly and when Mabel tried to call Carlo again, he could not be reached.
She then received news that her husband was not among the survivors of the crash.
Meanwhile, the family of Corporal Reynel Matundin is already preparing for his wake.
His family already displayed his photo in their living room.
Matundin's family said he will be buried in the vacant lot near their house in Kabacan, Cotabato.
Matundin is survived by his wife Annie and three daughters.
Further, among the fallen soldiers in the crash was Major Michael Vincent Benolerao, who was supposed to retire already.
Benelerao was supposed to go to Canada to follow his family and fiance.
His family said they are planning to cremate his body.
Fifty-three were killed in the crash, including 50 soldiers.
