Nightclub in Cebu shut down for violating health protocols

The local government of Cebu City has suspended the special permit of a night club in Barangay Kamputhaw after it violated minimum health protocols amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Cedric Castillo's report on "24 Oras" on Wednesday, the city government's Business Permit and Licensing Office issued a show cause order to Club Holic for violation of the minimum health standards on May 14.

Authorities said Club Holic operated as a night club that allowed customers to dance and violate health protocols. Social distancing was also reportedly not enforced.

The city government said the club's special permit will remain suspended until it converts the night club into a restobar.

The city government also ordered the establishment to temporarily stop selling liquor.

In a Facebook post, the club's management said it will follow the city government's recommendation and will come up with better ways to ensure the safety of its customers.

Cebu City is currently under a modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
