Antipolo hospital ER closed for a week after 20 medical frontliners get COVID-19

The emergency rooms for COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients of the Rizal Provincial Hospital System Annex 2 in Barangay Dalig, Antipolo City will be closed for a week after 20 medical frontliners tested positive for the coronavirus.

During the weeklong closure of the ER, the facilities will be thoroughly disinfected, according to a report by Mark Makalalad on Dobol B TV.

Contact tracing will also be intensified.

Hospital authorities said the 20 medical frontliners contracted the coronavirus after some patients did not fully declare their health condition.

The Antipolo local government advised the public to be truthful about their health condition for everyone's safety.

It also asked the public needing medical attention to go to other hospitals such as the Rizal Provincial Hospital System Annex 1, Annex 3 and Annex 4.

As of Tuesday, Antipolo City has logged 69 new COVID-19 cases, driving up the total confirmed cases to 5,912.

Of this number, 5,198 recovered, 137 died, and 577 are active.
