Former Batangas City Mayor Eduardo Dimacuha passes away

Former Batangas City Mayor Eduardo Dimacuha passed away on Sunday morning.

His son, Atty. Reginald Dimucha, shared the news of the former mayor's passing on his Facebook account.

"Our Dad, Eduardo B. Dimacuha, former Batangas City Mayor, joined his Creator this morning, 4 April 2021, Easter Sunday. We request prayers for the eternal repose of his soul," said the younger Dimacuha without stating the cause of his father's death.

In a separate post, Atty. Reginald remembered his father as a "visionary" who accomplished much as mayor of Batangas City.

He said that the late mayor pushed for the construction of the EBD Bridge of Progress to "decongest traffic in Batangas City and to ensure the safety of all Batangueños from floods."

"Thank you Daddy! We love you, Mayor Eddie," Atty. Reginald said.

"Our family would like to grieve in private at this time. We thank you for your love and your prayers," he added.

The elder Dimaculangan is the father of incumbent Batangas City Mayor Beverley Rose Dimacuha. — DVM, GMA News
