Over 400 houses destroyed as fire hits Davao City coastal area

Over 400 houses were affected by a fire that hit a coastal community in Agdao, Davao City on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Wednesday.

The PCG said its personnel assisted in evacuating the affected residents.

Citing the Bureau of Fire Protection, the PCG said 456 houses were damaged by the fire that started at 3 p.m. and was declared "fire out" two hours later.

Apart from personnel from the PCG District South Eastern Mindanao - Special Operations Unit and PCG Station Davao, volunteers from the PCG Auxiliary 811st Squadron also helped in the operation. —KBK, GMA News
