100 homes in Guinobatan, Albay receive roofing materials from GMA Kapuso Foundation

After the destruction caused by Typhoon Rolly last year, 100 homes in Guinobatan, Albay will now get rehabilitated thanks to the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to a report on "24 Oras," over 5,000 houses in 12 barangays were affected by the spate of typhoons which hit the Bicol region in 2020.

One of the residents who lost their homes was Ronnel Busquillos, a construction worker whose wife and four-month old baby temporarily live in Manila.

"'Yung pinakamasakit 'yung wala kang matirhan at saka wala kang permanenteng trabaho. Wala pa kaming panggastos sa pangbubong, mga pangdingding," Ronnel said.

Thanks to the roofing materials donated by the Kapuso Foundation under the Silong Kapuso Program, Ronnel's family can now rebuild their house.

"Dati po pinapanood ko lang kayo na tumutulong sa iba't ibang lugar, ngayon po hindi ko po inaasahan na nakarating na po kayo sa aming barangay," he said.

Donations to the Kapuso Foundation may be done through GMA Network's website, bank deposits, and vouchers.
