BARMM lines up over P15-B in infra projects for 2021
The Bangsamoro Government has lined up several infrastructure projects for 2021 amounting to P15,053,995,064.
According to the Bangsamoro Government, the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) will work on these projects, which include the construction of roads and bridges, flood control facilities, water supply projects, and other public works facilities.
“We envision to increase strategic and climate-resilient infrastructure to support sustainable socio-economic development in the Bangsamoro Region,” MPW Minister Edward Guerra said in a statement.
The Bangsamoro Government said the MPW will build 601.22 kilometers of main, agricultural, and tourism road projects across the region and its opt-in areas.
It will also rehabilitate 42 kilometers of damaged roads.
On Thursday, BARMM authorities held a ceremony for the concreting of the 700-meter Litayen-Limbayen Road in Bongao Island, Parang.
“This road concreting project is aimed at connecting Brgy. Litayen to Brgy. Limbayan in order to lessen the travel time of the commuters and also give access to tourism site,” Maguindanao First District Engineer Abobakar Avila said.
Two more kilometers worth P44 million will be added for the road in the project’s second phase. The Bangsamoro Government said it will be funded through its 2021 appropriations. — DVM, GMA News
