Davao Oriental provincial hospital under lockdown as 33 employees get COVID-19
The Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Center was placed under lockdown for 10 to 14 days after 33 of its employees tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
According to Mark Salazar’s report on “State of the Nation,” the hospital management said that temporarily, it will not accept patients, even emergency cases.
However, the management assured that patients already admitted will continue to be attended.
Authorities have conducted disinfection and sanitation procedures inside the hospital.
Meanwhile, local officials are considering the implementation of a 21-day quarantine period for locally stranded individuals and returning overseas Filipino workers in Barangay Poblacion in Kalibo, Aklan.
The Department of Health, the Municipal Health Office and the local Inter-Agency Task Force will decide on the matter. —Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
