Carcar City, Cebu official survives slay try

A councilor of Carcar City, Cebu survived an attempt on his life, according to a report on Saksi on Wednesday.

Anthony Apura was onboard his pick up truck when he was shot at by unidentified armed men. He was not hit as he kept his head down.

GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak reported that Apura is an ex-officio member of the City Councilor as he is the incumbent president of the Association of Barangay Council.

In a separate shooting incident in Alang-alang, Leyte, a barangay chairman was shot dead.

The gunmen shot Benjamin Padullon while onboard a motorcycle and traversing the national highway.

The police are conducting an investigation into the incident. -- BAP, GMA News
