Drug suspect's family eyes case vs. arresting officers in Sariaya, Quezon
The family a drug suspect is considering filing a case before the Office of the Ombudsman against police officers for alleged unjustified arrest conducted in Sariaya, Quezon, according to the Monday's report of Marisol Abduraman on Saksi.
"Iyang mga kapulisan na iyan ay gusto ko pong managot sa mali pong paghuli sa aking anak na wala naman pong ginagawang masama," said Roderic Rosales, the father of drug suspect Aldrin Rosales.
Aldrin Rosales was supposedly arrested, based on a video, in Barangay Sto. Cristo in the town of Sariaya in Quezon.
The individuals who accosted Aldrin on Wednesday were police officers.
The video footage of the arrest also showed that another vehicle, with alleged police officers onboard, arrived at the scene and someone was directed to drive the tricycle.
This was the same incident reported at the Sariaya Police Station, and that several sachets of suspected shabu were confiscated from Aldrin and the other suspect.
However, the same police report showed that the buy bust operation took place in Barangay Lutucan and not in Barangay Sto. Cristo where a CCTV recorded a buy bust operation.
If Aldrin was arrested in Barangay Lutucan and not in Barangay Sto. Cristo, a question remains on the identity of the individuals arrested by police officers as show in the video clip.
Reyes said the man shown int he video is not Aldrin, even if he admits that the footage is not clear.
-- BAP, GMA News
