Central Luzon police chief Police Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon berated Police Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca, the policeman who fatally shot his neighbors in Paniqui, Tarlac over the weekend, for dragging down the reputation of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

In a video posted by the Central Luzon police, De Leon told Nuezca that he had tainted the image of the Philippine National Police (PNP) after he shot his neighbors, mother and son Sonya and Frank Anthony Gregorio, in the head at close range after a heated argument over the use of a "boga."

"Ano? Sinira mo na naman ang PNP... You dragged the entire organization. Parang aso lang na ano na pumatay ng tao at close range... even at the height of your anger..." De Leon said.

The police official said he is worried for Nuezca's daughter, but informed the embattled police officer that he will get fired for what he did.

Nuezca said he regrets killing his two neighbors but also appealed to the police to help his own family.

De Leon told him that everybody is furious at him for brutally killing the unarmed Gregorios.

De Leon has said the PNP would help the family of Nuezca by providing them with proper intervention following the tragic incident.

The PNP also assured Nuesca, who has been indicted for two counts of murder, that they will try to ensure not to cut off his communication lines with his family. -MDM, GMA News
