Magat Dam adjusts gates' opening, still discharges water

The National Irrigation Administration - Magat River Integrated Irrigation System Dam and Reservoir Division on Tuesday morning decreased the opening of the gates of Magat Dam in Isabela.

Gate no. 4 was open at two meters as of 7:30 a.m., discharging approximately 414 cms of water.

The opening of Gate no. 3 meanwhile, which was previously at three meters, was decreased to two meters.

It was also discharging approximately 414 cms of water.

Magat Dam had as much as six gates open in previous days as heavy rains from the tail-end of a frontal system and the Northeast Monsoon enhanced by Tropical Depression Vicky poured over Cagayan Valley, filling up the reservoir.

On Monday, two gates remained open.
