Mayor Perez held office in the open despite threats –Los Baños exec

Los Baños Mayor Caesar Perez continued to hold office at an open area at the back of the municipal hall despite the death threats against him and his inclusion in President Rodrigo Duterte's narco-list.

Perez was shot to death Thursday evening while walking towards the municipal hall's receiving area.

Laviña added that last November, Perez had gone to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency's office to be drug tested and to prove he was not involved in illegal drugs.

The late mayor had also sought the assistance of a go-between who could approach the President on his behalf, but nothing came of the effort.

Meanwhile, police investigators who were still working the crime scene learned that a white van was seen leaving the municipal hall via a side street after the shooting.

On Monday, the special task group created to look into the mayor's killing was scheduled to present evidence it had so far gathered in its investigation. — DVM, GMA News
