General Santos City placed under MGCQ until Dec. 31

General Santos City in South Cotabato was placed under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) until Dec. 31, according to a report on GMA News' Unang Balita on Monday.

The announcement was made through an executive order issued by the city government.

Under the EO, hiking, biking and motorcycle trail riding will not be allowed on Sundays in the city.

All malls, markets and other public places will also be closed every Sunday.

Churches however will remain open but will have to follow health protocols. Church goers will also be allowed in churches only up to 50% of the venue capacity.

The order to have MGCQ until the end of the year was made amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the city. —KG, GMA News
