Complaint filed against woman who allegedly threatened LGBT member

A complaint was filed against an Antipolo City woman who allegedly discriminated against and threatened a member of the LGBT community, according to Katrina Son’s Saturday report on “24 Oras Weekend.”

Alexis Hart Garcia and Garcia's partner were walking when they were verbally assaulted by the woman who called them evil spirits.

“Masakit kasi Diyos ba siya para sabihan ako ng gano’n. Tapos ipamu-mukha pa talaga sayo na bakla ka? Oo, at alam ko na ‘yun. Pero sa harap ng maraming tao?” Garcia said.

Though they were planning to ignore the taunts, Garcia said the woman kept yelling at them, leading them to take a video.

Matters escalated and the suspect struck and threw something at Garcia.

“Nagulat ako kasi never kong na-experience na batuhin ako o bastusin ako, lalo’t lalo nasa kalye,” Garcia said.

In the video, Garcia was heard expressing surprise on being told that it would be a pleasure to shoot her. It was the threat that prompted Garcia to post the video.

The incident was reported at the local barangay and a complaint was filed.

A friend of the woman's family tried to explain to barangay officials that the woman was not feeling well mentally and emotionally.

“Ang sabi niya is because of kakamatay lang daw ng husband niya and because of the pandemic situation, halo-halo anxiety and everything ang kaniyang dahilan,” said barangay official Kristine Ibardolaza.

The pair are scheduled to meet at the barangay on November 11. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
