Pangasinan on blue alert in anticipation of Typhoon Rolly
Pangasinan province is under blue alert in anticipation of the possible effects of Typhoon Rolly, according to an Unang Balita report on Friday.
This means all concerned agencies have been alerted, and that rescue equipment have been prepositioned.
Authorities are also monitoring the water levels in different rivers in the province, as well as the San Roque dam.
Residents have also fortified their homes against the strong winds that will be brought by the typhoon which, according to PAGASA, could reach Signal No. 3 or No. 4.
Rolly rapidly intensified into a typhoon after entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday night. It is expected to further intensify over the Philippine Sea and make landfall at a peak intensity of 165 to 185 kilometers per hour.
Rolly may make landfall over the Central Luzon-Quezon area on Sunday evening or Monday morning, according to PAGASA as of Thursday night. —KBK, GMA News
