Hospital in Visayas conducts probe into fake RT-PCR swab test result

The Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) in Iloilo City is investigating a fake RT-PCR swab test result presented by an employee of Iloilo State College of Fisheries - Dingle campus, according to a report by GMA Regional TV's Nikko Sereno on Unang Balita on Tuesday.

The said employee went on leave, prompting the college to require a negative swab test result.

“Ini-reiterate namin na sa aming results, hindi kami nag-release direct sa tao. Kung may gustong agency na mag-request ng results, email lang namin sa kanila,” said Dr. Stephanie Abello, chief pathologist of Western Visayas Medical Center-SNL.

Abello said the fake swab test result also showed fake logos of the Department of Health - Region VI and the WVMC. 

The signatures in the counterfeit document were also not of those authorized to sign authentic documents at WVMC, she added. —KG, GMA News
