Ilocos Norte opens doors to tourists from Luzon
Ilocos Norte has opened its doors to tourists in an effort to boost the economy amid the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A report on Unang Balita on Friday said so far, only tourists from general community quarantine and modified general community quarantine areas in Luzon are allowed to visit Ilocos Norte.
Visitors must undergo COVID-19 testing not more than 72 hours before travel period and must coordinate with travel operators accredited by the Department of Tourism regarding transportation, accommodation and itinerary.
Visitors must also register on SafePass website for possible contact tracing.
Only 50 slots are available daily for tourists, the report said.
According to the local tourism office, two pairs of tourists from Antipolo City in Rizal and Baguio City arrived in the province on Thursday. --KBK, GMA News
