Decaying bodies of mother, daughter found in Bulacan
The bodies of a mother and her daughter were already decaying and emitting a foul odor when found by authorities in a house in Barangay Mercado in Hagonoy, Bulacan.
According to Saleema Refran’s report on “24 Oras Weekend,” police believed that 69-year-old Carmelita Tungol and 43-years-old Grace Tungol had been dead for four to five days.
Barangay officials said that the family’s neighbors reported a bad smell from the house while the relatives of the victims suspected that something was wrong when they did not answer any calls or messages.
Meanwhile, authorities still do not know how the victims died as there was no sign that anyone broke into their home. Neither was there any sign of theft.
Though Grace had a disagreement with someone, Evi Buenaflor, her aunt, said that this was an unlikely reason for murder.
“Ilang araw na raw po kasing tahimik, tas walang-wala kahit anong komosyon na may tao, tas panay daw po alulong ng aso, walang sumasaway,” Buenaflor said.
Barangay captain Rolando Santos said that the suspects may have timed the crime with the rainy weather.
“For the past few days, malakas ang ulan, eh, Baka itinaon nila [sa] palakas ng ulan,” Santos said. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
