Human rights paralegal killed in Bacolod, says Karapatan

A paralegal for the human rights watchdog group Karapatan was killed in Bacolod City on Monday, the organization has said.

Zara Alvarez, was a former campaign and education director, and paralegal in Negros.

She was a research and advocacy officer of the Negros Island Health Integrated Program of the rights organization.

Karapatan said Alvarez was among those tagged as “terrorists” in the proscription case of the Department of Justice filed in 2018.

"Her name and that of many others were stricken off the list, but the threats against her by alleged State forces continued," the group said. -NB, GMA News
