Ex-mayor of Apayao town shot dead

The former mayor of Flora, Apayao was killed in a shooting incident on Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday. 

Information reaching Camp Crame identified the victim as Richard De San Jose, who is currently the Indigenous People Minority representative of Flora town. 

Police said at around 9 p.m., the victim was drinking with some construction workers in a grill house along Sampaguita Street in Poblacion West when still unidentified suspects showed up and shot him. 

He was brought to Flora District Hospital for medication but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. 

Police are probing the incident. —KG, GMA News
