After Taal's eruption, mudflow from Butchoy distresses Batangas residents anew
Mud and flood due to Tropical Depression Butchoy have caused distress anew to residents of Laurel, Batangas, still reeling from Taal Volcano eruption in January this year.
According to a report by John Consulta on "24 Oras," Barangay Buso Buso experienced raging mudflow following rains this week, as seen from one footage from the office of Vice Governor Mark Leviste.
Resident Erlinda Malibiran's family rushed to save their two motorcycles and other properties after lahar-like waters entered their backyard and collapsed their wall.
Residents shovelled the thick mud that covered the roads after the floods.
Barangay officials proposed a solution to the flooding in their area.
Buso Buso chairperson Lea Sanngalang said.
Butchoy also caused a landslide in Agoncillo town.
Some vehicles got stuck in thick mud and ashes from the Taal Volcano, while a heavy equipment of Agoncillo's disaster management office conducted clearing operations so that roads could be passable.
