NLEX ready for influx of motorists as Metro Manila shifts to GCQ on June 1
The management of North Luzon Expressway on Sunday said preparations have already been made in anticipation of the influx of motorists on Monday.
Among the preparations done are the repainting and final repair of toll plazas, as well as the disinfection of toll booths, customer service centers, company vehicles, project sites and other facilities to prevent the spread of COVID-19, NLEX traffic operations manager Robin Ignacio said, according to a report by Luisito Santos on Dobol B sa News TV.

Ignacio said all toll booths will be open.
NLEX will also add portable collection booths to augment the current number of toll booths.

No ambulant tellers will be deployed to minimize personal contact as part of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Around 200,000 motorists are expected to travel on NLEX as Metro Manila shifts from modified enhanced community quarantine to the less strict general community quarantine on Monday.
NLEX management said the Philippine National Police will still have quarantine checkpoints at borders and entry points to the expressway.
On Sunday morning, traffic at NLEX-Camachile was still light in both the northbound and southbound directions.

Meanwhile, NLEX said medical frontliners will still continue to enjoy free toll until further notice.
It added that as of Friday, May 29, a total of P7.2 million worth of free toll fees have already been extended to 5,400 doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
