Laguna to appeal inclusion on list of areas under modified ECQ

The local government of Laguna will appeal the province's inclusion on the list of areas that will be under modified enhanced community quarantine amid the COVID-19 pandemic, according to an Unang Balita report on Wednesday.

According to Dr. Eduardo Janairo, Department of Health Region IV-A director, they would recommend that only parts of the province be placed under modified ECQ.

He said most of the COVID-19 cases in Laguna are in the first and second districts, while the third and fourth districts could be considered "low-risk" areas.

Aside from Laguna, also placed under modified ECQ from May 16 to 31 are National Capital Region and Cebu City. --KBK, GMA News
