BJMP Central VIsayas reports 348 COVID-19 cases

At least 348 individuals have tested positive for the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Central Visayas.

The latest report includes persons deprived of liberty (PDL) from Cebu City where there are 125 COVID-19 cases and nine cases in Mandaue City.

"The update we are giving on the number of cases is not meant to scare the public, but rather, to inform on the extent of efforts that the government is undertaking," according to the post on the Facebook page of BJMP Region VII.

The bureau is conducting contact tracing and monitoring of BJMP personnel and PDLs. -- BAP, GMA News
