Samar extends enhanced community quarantine until April 30
The provincial government of Samar on Monday extended the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) until April 30.
Samar Governor Michael Tan shared on Facebook a copy of Executive Order No. 2 which formalizes the extension. It was signed Monday.
On March 30, Tan initially set the ECQ from April 1 to April 15 only.
Tan said he instructed concerned agencies like the Samar Police Provincial Office and the Armed Forces of the Philippines to continue the implementation of the measures and guidelines against the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
As of Monday, the Samar government has recorded three cases of confirmed COVID-19 infection in the province, according to Tan.
Recently, the Inter-Agency Task Force for COVID-19 response also extended the ECQ over entire Luzon until April 30.
Meanwhile, the Samar Provincial Hospital Team on Monday visited the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center’s COVID-19 Molecular Laboratory as they plan to establish own testing center in partnership with Samar State University, Tan said. --Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
