Quezon province now under extreme enhanced community quarantine
The entire province of Quezon was placed under extreme enhanced community quarantine due to the threat of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) starting Thursday, according to Governor Danilo Suarez.
Suarez signed Executive Order No. 21 on Wednesday which places Quezon province under strict quarantine from April 9 to April 30.
"Strict home quarantine shall be observed in all households. Movement outside of residence shall be limited to accessing food, medicine, and other basic necessities," Suarez said, noting that only those who have quarantine pass may be allowed to go out of their homes to buy necessities.
He also said mass gatherings and the operation of public transport vehicles would temporarily be prohibited. According to Suarez, the "no back-ride rule" in motorcycles will be applied.
The governor, however, ensured that the movement of frontline workers would not be restricted as well as the movement of all cargo vehicles.
Liquor ban will also be implemented, according to the government official.
He said curfew hours will be from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m
Suarez reminded residents to observe proper social distancing and to wear face masks in public places. He said those who are not wearing face masks will not be allowed to enter hospitals, grocery stores, banks, and other establishments allowed to operate during the quarantine.
Isolation facilities
Meanwhile, Suarez also called on local government officials to identify possible quarantine facilities in their respective areas.
He urged them to submit a report about the identified sites, their capacities, and their present situation by April 13.
