Nurse who was attacked in Sultan Kudarat seeks justice

A nurse at a hospital in Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat is seeking justice after he was attacked with bleach while he was on his way to work.

According to a Mav Gonzales’ Sunday report on “24 Oras Weekend,” the health frontliner who worked at St. Louis Hospital, was mobbed by five people because they thought he was infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The health worker's eyes were injured during the attack. He was immediately brought to the hospital for treatment.

The hospital has already sought help with the national government to investigate the matter.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health has condemned the discrimination experienced by the health worker.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the country on Sunday rose to 1,418 including 71 deaths and 42 recoveries. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/LBG, GMA News
