Western Visayas records 2nd COVID-19 case
Western Visayas on Saturday reported its second case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
According to the Western Visayas Center for Health and Development, the patient was a 65-year-old male from Iloilo Province with no travel history.
However, he may have been exposed to his relatives who had traveled to Japan but were asymptomatic, according to a statement.
The patient was taken to hospital after displaying symptoms such as cough and fever.
The first case in the region -- a 56-year-old Filipino male with travel history to the United Kingdom -- was confirmed positive for the virus on Friday.
Due to this, local health authorities urged the public to disclose accurate and vital information to health authorities which would help in the proper management of the illness and safety of the community.
Meanwhile, the nationwide tally of confirmed cases had climbed to 307. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
