Polluted Bulacan waterway stinks, turns different colors
A creek in Meycauayan, Bulacan that often changes color brings anything but joy to residents.
"Minsan blue, minsan green, minsan 'yan nga sabi mo, minsan may red," Arlette Ejercito, a resident, said in Mark Salazar's Tuesday report on 24 Oras.
The creek has also emitted a strong odor of decaying fish and strong chemicals for at least three decades.
In an interview, Meycauayan Environment Officer Ricardo Santa Ana said that they will coordinate with the City Environment Office of Valenzuela as there are factories in Valenzuela that may be affecting the water.
However, Valenzuela City Environment Officer Rommel Pondivida said he was not aware of the creek changing its color.
According to Pondivida, they will wait for the Meycauayan office to reach out so they may conduct an investigation together.
