Thick ash blankets Batangas town, causing some roofs to collapse
The heavy accumulation of ash from Taal Volcano's eruption on Sunday has caused some roofs in Laurel, Batangas to cave in.

A state of calamity was declared in the province of Batangas on Monday.
Thousands of people in the CALABARZON Region have evacuated due to Taal Volcano’s activity, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Monday.
PHIVOLCS has raised Alert Level 4 over the Taal Volcano, meaning that a hazardous eruption is "imminent," or possible within hours or days. — Joviland Rita/BM, GMA News
